Crafts You Can Do with Leftover Tiles

You've just completed your home renovation project. Your new backsplash or bathroom remodel looks great. Now, you're just trying to figure out what to do with the leftover ceramic tiles. At the Grout Medic, we have plenty of ideas to help you use those leftover tiles. Scroll down to see our ideas.

Mini Dry Erase Magnets

To create mini dry erase magnets, you need the leftover tile, glue, and magnets. The project works best with white, glossy tiles, but any light-colored, non-patterned tile will work. Start by gluing magnets to the back of a tile. Use one magnet on each corner, and make sure they are strong enough to support the weight of the tile. When you're done, you have charming little magnets to write notes on.

Coaster Set

Create the perfect gift for someone you love or protect your favorite coffee table with a custom coaster set. All you need are ceramic tiles and either felt or cork board. Both cork and felt are available in sheets with adhesive backing. Choose one or the either and then cut the material to match the tile and start enjoying your custom coasters.

House Numbers

Increase your curb appeal with custom-made house numbers. Choose tiles similar in size and shape. But, feel free to mix colors or even throw in a few patterned tiles. If you only have white tiles and want to add colors, you can easily paint the tiles any color you'd like. Arrange the tiles the way you would like and then attach them by your front door.

Mosaic Pattern Table

Do you have an old, neglected table that needs to be brought back to life? If so, creating a patterned tile table is the perfect project for you. You'll need grout, tile cutters, blank tiles, and a little creativity for this project. Arrange the tiles the way you'd like and place them with the grout. If you plan on eating on the table, you'll want to use a grout sealer.

Now you know you don't have to let tile take up space in your garage or attic. Instead, get it out of storage and start getting creative. For grout and tile needs, The Grout Medic of Colorado Springs is ready to help. We can help you clean, stain, replace, and repair grout. Give us a call today to see what we can do for you.
